Living Prairie Museum

The Living Prairie Museum is a 12.9 hectare endangered tall grass prairie preserve. The museum includes an interpretive centre, research office, teaching garden and new media classroom. The mandate of Living Prairie Museum is to increase environmental awareness and promote conservation of natural areas, specifically tall grass prairie, through environmental education. Throughout the year, LPM offers curriculum-based programming, presentations, special events and workshops. In addition to the activities scheduled on site, Living Prairie Museum staff also provide “outreach” environmental programming at requested locations including schools, community centres and seniors homes, as well as other nature parks throughout the City of Winnipeg.
